The Self Lab

experiments in self-discovery

About this blog

I created The Self Lab to share my experiences, create something meaningful, and connect with others.

As someone with a scientific background and currently pursuing a PhD, I have come to appreciate more and more the complexity of our biology and the fascinating ways it shapes who we are and how we think, feel, make decisions, and change over time.

This blog is meant to be a place of reflection. A space where ideas about the mind, self-development, and the experience of academic life can be explored openly. While many of these reflections come from my own journey, I imagine that others may resonate with them as well.

In science, experiments rarely work perfectly the first time. We test, observe, adjust, and optimise. Over time, I have realised that discovering who we are works similarly. We try things, we experience them, and we slowly adjust our lives in ways that feel more authentic to us.

The Self Lab is inspired by the idea that personal growth can be approached with curiosity, reflection, and a willingness to experiment. I hope that what starts today as a journal may one day become a community.
